gavel Anti-Piracy & Content Responsibility

Melo strictly prohibits illegal streaming and piracy of copyrighted media. Melo operates purely as a front-end client interface. We do not provide, collect, index, or store media files. The user is entirely responsible for the audio content stored on their Jellyfin server or accessed via podcast subscriptions.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

Melo does not harvest, sell, or collect personal data, listening habits, login credentials, or server URLs. We do not run third-party tracking scripts, analytics tools, or advertising networks.

2. Server Communication & Connection

When you log in to your self-hosted Jellyfin server through Melo, authentication requests and API calls are sent directly from your browser to your designated Jellyfin server endpoint. No credentials or server tokens are ever routed through external third-party servers managed by Melo.

3. Local Data Storage

Melo utilizes your web browser's localStorage and IndexedDB to save your user preferences (such as light/dark theme preference, sidebar state, server URL, authentication tokens, and cached podcast data). This data remains strictly stored on your local device and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings or by signing out.

4. External Podcast Feeds

If you choose to subscribe to or search for podcasts within Melo, direct HTTPS requests are made to public podcast feed URLs and iTunes Search APIs to retrieve show artwork and audio enclosures. These third-party services operate under their respective privacy policies.

5. User Liability

Users are solely liable for ensuring that all content accessed through their self-hosted server or external audio streams complies with relevant copyright laws and licensing requirements in their jurisdiction.
